Backend Software Engineer
Location: Remote (Germany)
Our client is a well-established international business looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join their IT function. You will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the development, enhancement and operation of core business systems, working on digital products that have a tangible impact at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership as an engineer, contributing to the sustainable development of your team's products.
- Work collaboratively with business departments and customers in an interdisciplinary setting.
- Implement product ideas using current and emerging technologies.
- Be closely involved in all stages of development - from design through to operation - within a DevOps framework.
Your Profile:
- Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or a comparable field.
- First professional experience in software development.
- Strong expertise in Java 17+, relevant frameworks (e.g. Spring, Spring Boot) and REST-based API design.
- Familiarity with message streaming frameworks such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or SQS.
- Good knowledge of databases, including SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in an agile team environment.
- Good English skills; German is a plus.
