Risk Management and Market Surveillance Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Risk Management and Market Surveillance Analysts to join our Regulated Sites Risk Team under the Financial Logic Department. In this role, you will support the risk management and market surveillance functions for all regulated entities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in managing surveillance alerts, mitigating market abuse risks, and maintaining compliance continuity. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with regulatory frameworks in financial or trading environments.

Key Responsibilities

Market Surveillance

· Assist in real-time and post-trade monitoring of trading activity across spot and derivatives markets to detect unusual patterns, market abuse (e.g., wash trading, spoofing, layering, pump-and-dump), and other irregularities.

· Review and classify system-generated alerts, conduct preliminary investigations, and support case follow-up.

· Use Excel, SQL, and Python for basic data extraction, statistical analysis, and anomaly detection in trading patterns.

· Help tune surveillance rules and parameters to improve detection accuracy and efficiency.

Risk Management

· Monitor user positions, margin levels, leverage usage, volatility, and potential liquidation risks.

· Analyze market movements and their impact on overall platform risk exposure.

· Prepare daily risk reports, dashboards, and key risk indicators for senior stakeholders.

· Support basic stress testing, scenario analysis, and identification of abnormal behaviors that could pose risks to the platform or users.

· Assist in developing and improving risk control models and strategies to keep trading risks within acceptable limits.

General

· Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Product, and Tech teams on investigations, regulatory inquiries, and process improvements.

· Stay updated on crypto market trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in surveillance and risk management.

· Contribute to automation initiatives and documentation of findings.

· Participate in shift rotations (including nights/weekends) as needed for 24/7 market coverage.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Financial Engineering, or a related field.

· 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships in trading, compliance, data analysis, finance, or crypto are highly valued).

· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and logical thinking.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, formulas); knowledge of SQL or Python is a big plus.

· Genuine interest and basic understanding of cryptocurrency markets, blockchain, derivatives trading, and market abuse techniques.

· Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) for clear reporting.

· Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks under pressure.

· Willingness to work flexible hours/shifts and relocate to Dubai (if applicable).
