At Carbon Limits, you’ll help turn methane ambition into action. Cutting methane is widely recognized as one of the fastest ways to curb near-term warming — and the energy sector has a major role to play.
We’re hiring a Project Manager with at least 5 years of experience to lead consulting projects focused on oil & gas decarbonization, with a strong emphasis on methane emissions management (inventories, mitigation planning, capacity building, and implementation support).
The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll own project delivery end to end: planning the work, leading teams, working closely with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality outputs. You’re a doer who takes pride in getting things done — and in doing so as part of a team.
From day one, you’ll use your technical foundation to support governments and NGOs, and to help oil & gas companies accelerate methane mitigation.
After getting to know Carbon Limits a bit better, you might lead a project to identify methane abatement options for an operator in a high-impact country — coordinating data collection and analysis, helping the client understand methodologies, delivering training and capacity building, and shaping monitoring and implementation plans.
What you bring
Must-have
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, including ownership of project delivery (consulting or similar), with confidence managing timelines, quality, clients, and stakeholders
- A master’s degree (or higher) in a relevant quantitative discipline
- Demonstrated experience or exposure to methane management
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate client needs into structured analyses, projects, and proposals
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus in our international environment
- A team player who lifts others up
- Willingness to travel regularly internationally, including to client sites and the field
Nice-to-have
- Experience communicating complex issues to diverse audiences, from operators to policymakers
- Curious and creative mindset - eager to explore new solutions to clients' problems
- Experience with methane emissions management from other sectors (coal, waste and agriculture)
Team & culture
You’ll join an open, dynamic, and friendly team, with strong support for continuous learning. As you grow, you’ll take on larger projects, build long-term client relationships, and strengthen your climate credentials.
And yes — from day one, you’re welcome to bring creativity not only to tackling methane, but also to planning our next team party.
Why Carbon Limits?
- We are a truly international team — our colleagues come from Mexico to Bangladesh, as well as Portugal, Lebanon, and beyond. We work in many languages with clients and partners around the world.
- We may not be the biggest fish, but we are widely recognized and trusted by clients in over 60 countries, with a strong focus on quality, integrity, and engagement.
- With 15 years of experience in methane management, we didn’t start working on methane because it’s fashionable — we work on it because we genuinely believe it is one of the key opportunities to slow near-term climate change.
- We also deliver tools, not just advice. Carbon Limits built Mist, a methane inventory and abatement tool aligned with OGMP reporting approaches, designed to help operators move from initial estimates to stronger data quality over time.
Location: Oslo, Norway
You’ll be based in our Oslo office. Norwegian work culture is widely known for prioritizing work–life balance, including five weeks of paid vacation and respect for time with family and the outdoors. And if you’ve heard of friluftsliv — Norway’s “open-air living” mindset — Oslo makes it easy to live it, with forests, fjords, ski trails, and hiking all close to the city.
If you’re the right person, we can support your work permit process.
If relocating to Oslo is a challenge but you are a perfect match for the role, a remote position (Oslo time zone +-2 hours) could be considered.
If you’re motivated by climate impact, technical depth, and global collaboration, we’d love to hear from you.
Deadline for submission of applications: April 17th
