The Product Manager is responsible for driving the success of an assigned product portfolio across its full lifecycle—from market and customer insight through development, launch, growth, and phase‑out. This role acts as the bridge between market needs, business strategy, and cross‑functional execution, ensuring products deliver clear customer value, strong business performance, and long‑term portfolio relevance.
The Product Manager works closely with sales, marketing, R&D, operations, and other key stakeholders to define product strategy, guide development priorities, enable successful go‑to‑market execution, and continuously optimize portfolio performance in a dynamic industrial automation and sensing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio & Market Strategy: Continuously assess market trends, competitive positioning, technology developments, regulatory impacts, and evolving customer needs to guide portfolio strategy and ensure long‑term competitiveness.
- Customer & User Insight Leadership: Leverage customer research and user‑centered/UX methods to identify explicit and unmet needs, validate hypotheses, and translate insights into differentiated product concepts and value propositions.
- Mid‑Term & Business Planning: Contribute to mid‑term and budget planning by defining product goals, roadmaps, priorities, and financial scenarios aligned with overall business and portfolio strategy.
- Product Development Ownership: Act as a core member of cross‑functional project teams, representing market and customer requirements, shaping business cases, influencing priorities, and managing risks throughout the product development process.
- Go‑to‑Market & Product Launch: Own the end‑to‑end product launch process, including value messaging, digital product data, sales enablement materials, training content, and coordination of pre‑ and post‑launch activities.
- Lifecycle & Performance Management: Monitor portfolio performance using KPI‑based analysis, ensure appropriate market positioning and pricing, identify performance gaps, and initiate corrective or growth‑oriented actions.
- Portfolio Optimization & Innovation: Identify opportunities for product extensions, adaptations, or new solutions, while proactively managing low‑performing variants through sales initiatives, optimization measures, or structured phase‑out and replacement strategies.
- Stakeholder Enablement & Communication: Enable sales, marketing, and customers through ongoing product training, accurate and up‑to‑date product information, and input into marketing activities, ensuring clear and consistent communication across stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, including responsibility for managing and developing a product portfolio
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical or scientific discipline
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable decisions
- Proven experience working in customer‑facing and cross‑functional environments, influencing without direct authority
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical and business stakeholders
- Solid understanding of industrial automation environments, including sensors, controllers, and software platforms (advantageous)
- Experience working with product lifecycles, business cases, and go‑to‑market execution in technology‑driven organizations
- Structured, proactive, and results‑oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership
