The Software Developer Role?

The Software Developer will work with modern technologies to help develop our B2B (SaaS) applications. Sandwai's platform includes a web application for administrative tasks, a mobile app for workers providing services, a client and family app for service recipients, and a suite of integrations and APIs. This is an opportunity to work with technologies and develop solutions across the full ecosystem.

Workshop with product specialists to create new designs and implement changes, assist with testing and quality control, liaise with customers and solution partners, and build solutions that make a positive and tangible difference to peoples lives.

• Current stack: PHP (Laravel), MySQL, Vue.js, REST APIs.
• Infrastructure & Tools: AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Elasticache, CodePipeline), Docker, VS Code.
• Codebase and technologies are regularly updated and refactored.
• Use and help evaluate emerging AI‑assisted development tools.
• Sandwai is a complex software system that operates in a highly regulated industry, with custom algorithms and engines for route optimisation, finance and billing, and award interpretation.

A Successful Software Developer at Sandwai

You have experience with the following technologies:

• Experience with PHP or a similar development language
• A solid understanding of relational databases, MySQL, SQL etc
• Experience with a reactive front-end framework such as Vue.js, React or Angular.
• Strong analytical ability to debug, analyse and solve complex problems
• Experience with GitHub or similar
• Have a thirst for innovating and a positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English
• Be highly organised with great time management skills
• Motivated and have a great eye for detail

Which skills will give me an advantage but aren't mandatory?

• Laravel, Vue.js
• Docker
• Flutter, NativeScript, or other mobile development
• Experience with Zoho CRM & Desk or similar

This position is based in VARSITY LAKES ON THE GOLD COAST, QLD. We spend valued time designing new solutions and solving issues together so we value our 3-4 days in the office, and there is typically the option of 1-2 days of remote work per week.
