Role Purpose

The Digital Transformation Lead will drive the safe, scalable adoption of enterprise AI as a core enabler of organisational transformation.

This role focuses on shaping how AI is embedded into ways of working—balancing data security, privacy, and sovereignty requirements with an executive mandate for broad productivity uplift and innovation. The role bridges strategy, technology, risk, and culture to ensure AI delivers measurable business outcomes at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Transformation & Strategy

  • Lead the transformation agenda for enterprise AI adoption, ensuring alignment with broader digital and productivity strategies.
  • Translate executive intent for AI‑enabled productivity into practical operating models, governance structures, and delivery patterns.
  • Identify opportunities where AI can materially improve decision‑making, efficiency, and employee experience across the organisation.

AI Governance & Operating Model Design

  • Shape and evolve an AI governance and operating model that enables rapid adoption while managing privacy, security, and regulatory risk.
  • Define clear decision rights, accountability, and escalation pathways across technology, legal, risk, and business functions.
  • Ensure governance is proportionate, pragmatic, and designed to accelerate—not constrain—transformation.

Data Risk, Privacy & Trust

  • Provide strategic oversight of data security, privacy, and data sovereignty controls as they relate to AI‑enabled transformation.
  • Establish tiers of data sensitivity and guide how different data types can be safely used with AI tools.
  • Build organisational trust in AI by embedding responsible use, transparency, and risk awareness into transformation initiatives.

Platform & Integration Enablement

  • Define enterprise‑level integration patterns for AI platforms such as Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Grok, aligned to business use cases and data risk.
  • Guide where AI should be embedded into workflows, applications, and platforms versus where usage should be constrained or mediated.
  • Partner with architecture, security, and engineering teams to ensure consistent, scalable adoption patterns.

Adoption, Change & Capability Uplift

  • Drive adoption by ensuring AI solutions are usable, accessible, and embedded into everyday work.
  • Support change management and capability uplift across the organisation, including leadership education and workforce enablement.

Executive & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives on the trade‑offs between innovation, speed, and risk in AI‑driven transformation.
  • Align diverse stakeholder groups (business, technology, risk, legal) around a shared vision for responsible AI adoption.
  • Communicate complex technical and risk concepts in a way that supports informed, timely executive decision‑making.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading digital transformation initiatives in large or complex organisations.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and security as they apply to modern digital platforms.
  • Experience designing or operating governance models that support innovation at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance risk management with delivery velocity and adoption outcomes.
  • Strong executive engagement and influence skills.
  • Experience with enterprise AI platforms and productivity technologies.
  • Exposure to AI governance, responsible AI frameworks, or technology risk.
  • Background in enterprise architecture, platform strategy, or operating model transformation.
  • Experience driving change across multiple business units or functions.
