Contract: 12 months with 2 × 12‑month extension options

Are you an experienced Senior Network Engineer looking to take ownership of a complex and evolving enterprise environment? This long-term contract offers the opportunity to lead critical network operations, uplift standards, and contribute to major incident response and strategic improvements.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with 10+ years’ experience providing Level 3 network administration and support across a broad technology landscape. You will work within a high-performing team responsible for managing and enhancing a large-scale network environment spanning:
  • Firewalls & traffic management
  • LAN, WLAN, WAN
  • Software-defined networking (SDN)
  • Cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and Zscaler
This role requires a proactive, accountable professional who can lead improvements, ensure compliance, support major incident processes, and uplift team capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage updates, improvements, and lifecycle activities for network infrastructure, standards, procedures, documentation and diagrams.
  • Perform advanced fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implement effective remediation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to security policies and controls.
  • Manage IT service queues to ensure timely ticket resolution.
  • Lead or support major incident response, keeping senior stakeholders and incident managers informed.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support project planning and drive positive outcomes.
  • Mentor and uplift team capability.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in SDN technologies (e.g., Cisco ACI)
  • Expertise with Fortigate firewalls and enterprise-grade LAN/WAN/WLAN
  • Cloud networking across AWS and Azure
  • Experience with Zscaler and cloud security technologies
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to train, mentor, and support team members
