The Role

The company is seeking a C++ Application Software Engineer to join their team near Bruges. This is a product-focused role centred on the development of scalable desktop applications. You will work within a modern engineering environment that prioritises clean architecture, performance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance desktop applications using modern C++
• Contribute to the architecture and scalability of complex simulation software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and domain experts
• Optimise software performance for large-scale, data-heavy simulations
• Ensure high code quality through best practices, testing, and code reviews
• Participate in continuous improvement of development processes and tools

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with modern C++ (C++17 or later)
• Experience developing desktop applications
• Familiarity with Qt and/or QML
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Proficiency with build systems such as CMake
• Understanding of performance optimisation in complex systems

Nice to Have

• Experience working with large-scale simulation software
• Exposure to AI or machine learning technologies
