Context

The client is looking for an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join the DBA-EXPERT team within the Infrastructure domain of the Hosting Factory. The Hosting Factory is responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing secure and scalable hosting environments, both on-premises and in cloud environments, supporting business-critical services and document management platforms. The team also provides specialized Level 3 technical support, ensuring the performance, resilience, and security of hosted systems. The Senior DBA acts as the key technical contact for Oracle database management, supporting complex infrastructures and coordinating with internal IT teams and external providers.

Objective

The objective of the role is to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of Oracle database environments, while supporting operational activities, implementing improvements, and maintaining high availability for business-critical services.

Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administration

• Provide Level 3 support for Oracle database environments.

• Manage the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Oracle database systems.

• Ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of database environments.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

• Monitor database performance using standard monitoring tools.

• Analyze performance issues and implement optimization measures.

• Provide technical recommendations to development teams to ensure efficient and secure database usage.

Incident Management and Coordination

• Coordinate the resolution of complex database issues with various internal IT teams.

• Act as a technical liaison with external vendors and third-line support providers.

• Ensure efficient handling of incidents affecting critical database systems.

Security and Compliance

• Implement necessary database security measures in collaboration with technical architects and the CISO team.

• Ensure database environments comply with internal security policies and enterprise standards.

Backup, Recovery and High Availability

• Implement and monitor backup strategies and disaster recovery solutions.

• Manage backup solutions and ensure proper recovery procedures are in place.

• Contribute to maintaining high availability and disaster recovery (DR/HA) environments.

Deployment and Lifecycle Management

• Prepare and execute database deployments and back-out plans.

• Define and implement database standards and best practices.

• Proactively monitor technological developments and integrate relevant innovations in database management.

Continuous Improvement

• Propose and promote realistic improvement initiatives for database operations and infrastructure.

• Contribute to the evolution of database management practices within the infrastructure domain.

Profile

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration, particularly in Oracle environments.

• Proven experience in setup, optimization, and monitoring of database systems.

• Experience working in large enterprise environments with more than 2,000 users.

Technical Skills

Databases

• Oracle Database Administration (Expert).

• SQL Server (Knowledge required).

Operating Systems

• Windows Server.

• Unix / Linux environments.

Infrastructure

• VMware virtualization environments.
