Senior Backend Engineer – Go / Golang

6 month contract – hybrid (Dublin, London, Barcelona, Warsaw or Berlin)

I’m working with a product-led SaaS company looking for multiple senior backend engineers to join their platform teams. These roles sit across core backend services and a newer AI-focused area building agentic capabilities.

This is a hands-on role in a brownfield environment, focused on improving and extending existing Go services at scale.

Key requirements

• Strong hands-on Go experience, maintaining and improving existing services rather than only greenfield builds

• Solid PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, query optimisation, performance tuning and safe migrations

• Experience with distributed systems, microservices and event-driven architectures, ideally with Kafka or similar

• Comfortable working independently from product requirements where technical direction is not fully defined

• Confident using AI coding agents as part of day-to-day development

Additional experience (depending on team)

• Experience building agents, agentic tooling or MCP servers

• Exposure to Temporal for workflow orchestration

• Experience integrating messaging platforms such as Twilio

• Exposure to Node.js, TypeScript or Python

Contract details

• 6 month initial contract with strong likelihood of extension

• Hybrid working in Dublin, London, Barcelona, Warsaw or Berlin

• Competitive day rate
