Job Title: Server Engineer

Work Experience Requirements

At least 5 years of IT support technical experience with proven experience as a storage and server engineer for at least 3 years.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or graduate of a technical school. Relevant technical certifications are a plus.
• Experience on deployment, installation and maintenance of enterprise servers and storages. (DELL, HPE, IBM, HITACHI, ETC)
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWARE / HyperV.
• In-depth knowledge of server operating systems and server hardware.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Extensive experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Solar Winds and Azure Monitoring).
• Experience with physical IT infrastructure is a plus. (Cabling, Data Center Operations, HVAC, UPS, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain the server infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability and performance. Server infrastructure solutions includes physical and virtual servers (ESXI and HYPERV).
• Administer, maintain and provide support on the installation of operating system (windows and linux)
• Monitor server performance, identify and proactively address performance issues to ensure the optimal performance of all servers.
• Create, develop and prepare technical documentation for all servers and storages. Technical
• documentation should have processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides and training module.
• Work closely with the IT Security team and the Networking team to ensure data protection and security.
• Maintain all servers to be on updated drivers and firmware releases. Ensure all operating system
• (windows and linux) security and cumulative are updated accordingly.
• Maintain a detailed server, equipment and operating system inventory along with firmware revision dates and software version and build number to ensure accuracy and up to date information.
• Assist the Operation and Project Team in planning server requirements for projects and/or new applications, server migrations and ordering of equipment. Maintain and monitor maintenance contracts and track end of life for all servers.
