Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical installation of network switches in data center racks.
- Mount devices securely in racks following standard procedures.
- Handle structured cabling, including patching and termination.
- Connect switches using console cable for initial access (if required).
- Ensure proper cable management, routing, and dressing within racks.
- Perform labeling of cables and devices using a label printer as per standards.
- Verify physical connectivity between switches, patch panels, and network ports.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of connectivity issues during installation.
- Coordinate with remote technical teams for configuration and validation.
- Follow all site safety and compliance guidelines.
Tools Required:
- Console Cable
- Standard Network Toolkit (screwdrivers, crimping tools, etc.)
- Label Printer
Required Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience in network hardware installation.
- Familiarity with data center environments and rack setups.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN, VLAN, IP addressing).
- Experience in structured cabling and patch panel management.
- Ability to use console access for device connectivity.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
