These are hands-on, fully on-site role responsible for the configuration, maintenance, testing, and ongoing operation of end-user technology across multiple hospital sites
You will support the opening, refurbishment, and reconfiguration of clinical and corporate areas, including the installation, configuration, and verification of workstations, printers, peripherals, and associated software. This will include specialist printing solutions such as label and wristband printers that are essential to safe patient identification and care delivery.
Working as part of a close-knit team, you will contribute to project and improvement work, including device refresh programmes, upgrades, replacements, audits, and major deployments such as EHR go-lives.
Previous applicants who applied within the last 6 months need not apply. We encourage candidates who applied earlier than 6 months ago to reapply if they now meet the required competencies.
You will support testing and validation activities to ensure that all devices are safe, secure, reliable, and fit for clinical use, and you will help maintain accurate configuration and asset records in line with agreed processes and best practice. Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
The devices you support play a critical role in patient care across highly acute and specialist areas, including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, Theatres, Maternity Services, and outpatient services. As such, a proactive and resilient approach, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred customer service are essential.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Digital Healthcare Directorate, including Technical Delivery and EHR application teams. You will gain hands-on experience configuring and supporting the Trust’s Electronic Health Record system, particularly in relation to workstation and printer configuration, building and maintaining system records, and ensuring alignment between clinical requirements and technical delivery.
This role also involves promoting the safe and effective use of end-user technology, acting as an ambassador for Digital Healthcare. Flexibility to participate in out-of-hours working during peak periods, such as major deployments and go-lives is required.
