Senior Researcher, LLM System Architecture

Zurich or Lausanne, Switzerland

Our client, a leading technology and research organisation based in Zurich, is seeking a Senior Researcher, LLM System Architecture to work on next-generation AI infrastructure and high-performance LLM systems.

This role will focus on:

• Optimising LLM inference engines, including quantisation, sparse attention, and KV cache reuse
• Designing efficient kernels and hardware-software co-design solutions for AI accelerators
• Profiling end-to-end AI workflows to identify bottlenecks and improve performance
• Building low-latency, high-throughput solutions for transformer and generative AI workloads
• Contributing to advanced research, open-source projects, and ecosystem development

Requirements:

• PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Architecture, or related field
• Strong Python and C/C++ programming skills
• Experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
• Solid understanding of model optimisation and system-level AI performance
• Excellent English communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience with AscendC, Triton, CUDA, or other xPU toolchains
• Exposure to large vision or multimodal models
• Research publications or open-source contributions in AI systems
