Senior Java Consultant - 12 months - Full Stack Role

My Dublin based client is looking for a Snr Java Developer to join their growing team on a contract daily rate basis. The role role is hybrid 2-3 days on site in Dublin and is for 12 months starting April 2026.

We are seeking a high‑calibre Senior Full Stack Software Developer with 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience and a minimum of 7 years in complex full‑stack delivery across enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with deep hands‑on proficiency in modern Java (v11+) / Spring Boot backend development and Angular (or equivalent modern frameworks) on the frontend. They will play a key role in designing, building, modernising, and supporting large‑scale applications within a regulated, mission‑critical environment.

The role requires someone who can operate independently, provide technical leadership, mentor development teams, and contribute to architectural decision‑making while ensuring high‑quality, secure, and scalable software delivery.

Key Technical Capabilities

Backend:

• Modern Java (v11+ / v17), Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful API design
• Persistence using JPA, Hibernate, JDBC; Oracle DB experience an advantage

Frontend:

• Angular/AngularJS, TypeScript, modern UI component frameworks

DevOps & Tooling:

• Git, GitLab/Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, containerised runtimes (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift beneficial)

Integration & Runtime:

• Experience with enterprise Java application servers (WebLogic, JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat)
• Strong debugging, performance optimisation, and production‑stability practices

• 10+ years delivering high‑quality software solutions in enterprise environments
• 7+ years proven full‑stack development experience (Java + modern JS framework)
• Ability to lead by example in coding standards, solution design, and architectural alignment
• Strong problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
• Experience working in agile, multi‑disciplinary teams
• Experience working in public sector, legislative and policy driven environments
• Ability to quickly understand complex legacy systems and contribute to modernisation initiatives

This role requires 2–3 on‑site days per week in Dublin (hybrid) and is suited to a senior engineer who thrives in environments undergoing migration, modernisation, and platform uplift.

The rate on offer is €450-500 per day
