DevOps Engineer Role

Freelance Opportunity

Contract Length: April 1st - June 30th 2026

Remote working: onsite onboarding then quarterly visits in Veldhoven

Supporting a major transformation project, migrating from an on‑premise KNIME Server environment to the KNIME Business Hub on Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and running containerised environments using Kubernetes, primarily within Azure AKS, with some on‑prem exposure.
• Setting up GitOps-style delivery using Argo CD and managing how applications flow from code to production.
• Building out the storage and database foundations in Azure, including object storage services and hosted PostgreSQL instances.
• Preparing and organising repositories so applications, workflows, and platform components can be deployed consistently.
• Connecting identity and access systems (e.g., Okta, LDAP, Splunk integrations) to ensure secure access and auditability.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience running and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters (Azure AKS or self‑hosted).
• Proven capability using Argo CD or similar declarative deployment tools.
• Familiarity with Azure‑based object storage and managed PostgreSQL offerings.
• Understanding of connecting applications to enterprise identity services (Okta / LDAP / Splunk or similar).
• Practical experience working with CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps practices.
• Confidence installing, configuring, and moving applications across environments.
