At Better we are building software solutions that help medical teams improve patient care. Our advanced digital health platform and solutions already support over 30 million patients’ electronic health records across more than 20 markets worldwide, making data quality our number one priority.

This is where you come in. We’re looking for a mid-backend developer who combines strong technical skills with a growth mindset, curiosity, and clear communication. As a backend developer at Better, you will work with a team of developers, designers, DevOps engineers, analysts, QA testers and product managers. You will play a crucial role in the development lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and beyond.

We are interested in candidates who bring most of the following skills:

• 2-3 years of experience as a backend developer in Java or Kotlin
• Strong verbal and written communication in English and Slovenian
• Strong decision-making, communication, teamwork, collaboration and organizational skills
• Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy applications using Spring Boot
• Experience with building automation tools (Gradle and Maven)
• Track record of working with Git and GitLab for version control in a team environment
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of CI/CD principles and tools
• Experience with performance profiling tools to optimise application performance
• Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, and/or Azure)
