Ranked as the No.1 Engineering startup in Switzerland for 2025, Corintis offers a friendly and team-oriented workplace, bringing together over 70 people from over 25 nationalities to solve the most significant computing challenges of tomorrow. Based on the EPFL campus near Lausanne, we are closely connected to the local ecosystem and are located a few minutes walk from Lake Geneva.
The RoleThe IT & Security Engineer plays a key role in the day-to-day operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of Corintis’ IT and security environment.
This position blends hands-on IT operations and end-user support with practical security responsibilities, covering identity, endpoint, and cloud collaboration platforms, primarily within the M365 ecosystem. The role is highly operational, with a strong focus on execution, while also contributing to the gradual strengthening and professionalization of Corintis’ IT and security foundations.
The IT & Security Engineer is responsible for core activities such as employee onboarding and offboarding, device provisioning, Microsoft 365 administration, basic network operations, and first-line IT and security support. In parallel, the role actively contributes to IT and security initiatives including IT service management (ITSM), mobile device management (MDM), endpoint hardening, and security baseline implementation.
Working closely with the Head of IT Security & Compliance and the Information Security Officer, this role helps ensure that Corintis’ IT environment remains secure, reliable, and scalable, supporting a fast-growing and innovative organization.
Key Responsibilities
IT OPERATIONS
- Prepare, configure, and maintain laptops and workstations for employees, including OS installation, secure baseline configuration, and application deployment.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding from an IT perspective, including account creation and deprovisioning, access assignment, and hardware logistics.
- Administer core collaboration platforms, primarily Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), ensuring availability, appropriate configuration, and efficient usage.
- Provide first-line IT support to employees (both on-site and remote), troubleshooting issues related to devices, access, and applications.
- Support basic network operations in coordination with internal stakeholders and external service providers, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and office connectivity.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and the CMDB, covering endpoints, peripherals, and licensed software.
- Administer endpoint security controls, including EDR, MDM, disk encryption, OS patching, and baseline enforcement across the device fleet.
- Support the administration and tuning of identity and access controls across Microsoft 365 and connected SaaS platforms (e.g., MFA, conditional access, and role assignments).
- Contribute to the rollout, operation, and continuous improvement of the MDM/UEM solution as it is introduced and expanded.
- Assist in monitoring and responding to security alerts, performing initial analysis and escalating incidents to the Head of IT Security & Compliance.
- Help implement and maintain security hardening guidelines for endpoints, user accounts, and collaboration platforms.
- Support the deployment and operation of IT service management tools, contributing to incident, request, and change management processes.
- Participate in IT and security projects such as onboarding new SaaS tools, improving endpoint management, deploying MDM, or optimizing collaboration platforms.
- Document procedures, runbooks, and how-to guides for recurring IT and security tasks to ensure consistency and effective knowledge sharing.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve service quality through scripting or configuration enhancements.
- Work closely with the Information Security Officer (ISO) to provide technical input into security standards, procedures, and control implementation.
- Support the practical rollout of security and compliance requirements across endpoints, systems, and SaaS platforms (e.g., by enforcing policies, implementing controls, and collecting evidence).
- Assist in gathering technical information and evidence for security assessments, audits, and customer security questionnaires.
- Contribute to incident response activities by supporting initial triage, log collection, and containment or remediation actions, under guidance.
- Act as an approachable and trusted point of contact for IT and security related questions, helping employees work efficiently and securely.
- Support the rollout of IT and security awareness initiatives, including onboarding briefings, short training sessions, and practical guidance for end users.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar role, ideally within modern, cloud-centric and fast-paced environments.
- Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 services (user and group management, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID configuration).
- Solid experience with Windows endpoint configuration and troubleshooting; macOS experience is a strong plus.
- Good understanding of core security concepts such as endpoint protection, encryption, MFA, IAM, network security, and basic incident handling.
- Experience with SaaS applications commonly used in modern organizations (e.g., collaboration, ticketing, documentation, and HR tools), including their integration with the core IT stack (SSO, SCIM, APIs).
- Pragmatic approach to risk management, balancing security needs with operational efficiency.
- Exposure to MDM/UEM solutions (such as Microsoft Intune) and a willingness to actively contribute to their rollout and optimization.
- Previous involvement in IT or security projects such as tool deployments, migrations, or process improvements.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical and independent approach to troubleshooting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and requests simultaneously, prioritizing effectively in a fast-growing environment.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills, with the ability to support users with varying technical backgrounds.
- Comfortable working on-site several days per week to support hardware, network, and in-person collaboration needs.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SC-900, SC-300, SC-200, SC-400, CompTIA Security+, ITIL) are strongly preferred.
- Enjoy combining hands-on IT work with practical security responsibilities and seeing the direct impact of your work on colleagues’ daily productivity.
- Are energized by variety, switching between onboarding new joiners, resolving technical issues, improving security controls, and contributing to IT and security projects.
- Like working with modern cloud platforms, especially Microsoft 365, and want to deepen your expertise in this ecosystem.
- Take pride in being organized, reliable, and service-oriented, delivering high-quality support while maintaining consistent system configurations.
- Value autonomy and trust, while enjoying close collaboration with security, engineering, and operations teams.
- Bring a pragmatic mindset, focusing on security solutions that are effective without slowing down a fast-moving startup.
- Are curious and eager to learn, whether about new SaaS tools, security practices, or automation opportunities.
- Enjoy building and improving processes, not just following them, and documenting your work so others can benefit.
- You prefer a narrow, highly specialized role and are not interested in balancing support, operations, and project work.
- You are looking for a large, highly structured corporate environment with strict separation between IT and security responsibilities.
- You are uncomfortable providing end-user support and engaging directly with employees on a regular basis.
- You want to work fully remotely without regular on-site presence; this role requires hands-on access to devices and office infrastructure.
- You prefer working strictly from predefined procedures and are not interested in helping design, improve, or document processes.
