Product Designer
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $50–$65/hour
About the Role
We are seeking a Product Designer to support digital product initiatives within a financial services environment. This role will focus on creating intuitive, secure, and user-friendly experiences for web and mobile platforms, with an emphasis on client-facing financial tools and applications.
You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to design solutions that simplify complex financial concepts while maintaining compliance and usability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end user experiences for financial products (e.g., banking platforms, investment tools, client portals)
- Translate complex financial workflows into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools such as Figma
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, compliance, and stakeholders
- Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and regulatory considerations
- Contribute to and maintain design systems and UI consistency across platforms
- Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders and leadership
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or related field
- Experience designing for financial services, fintech, or highly regulated industries is strongly preferred
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Figma (or similar design tools)
- Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design
- Experience working in agile environments with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with data-heavy or dashboard-style interfaces
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Understanding of financial concepts (banking, payments, investments)
- Knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
