About The Role
Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare insurance industry, is embarking on a strategic initiative to enhance enterprise-level insights and accelerate data-driven decision making. We are seeking a Scrum Master to support this initiative and guide cross-functional teams in delivering high-impact solutions. This role is well-suited for an Agile practitioner who excels at fostering collaboration, removing impediments, and driving continuous improvement across teams and programs.
Job Description
As the Scrum Master, you will support the development of a comprehensive enterprise affordability dashboard, a foundational capability designed to provide actionable insights that influence organizational priorities and future initiatives. You will facilitate Agile ceremonies, partner closely with product owners, and ensure delivery teams maintain strong alignment with Agile best practices.
Your work will enable iterative delivery, support the rollout of new products and services, and contribute to large-scale development efforts, system migrations, outsourcing initiatives, and infrastructure enhancements—ensuring agility remains at the forefront of execution.
Your Responsibilities
- Apply Agile values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with product owners to refine product development and business requirements.
- Support teams in building and maintaining healthy backlogs, including defining and refining acceptance criteria.
- Conduct journey-mapping sessions and establish clear Definitions of Ready and Done.
- Integrate tasks, issues, risks, and action items into Agile workflows and backlogs.
- Schedule and facilitate Scrum events, team meetings, and decision-making sessions.
- Identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and foster a culture of experimentation and learning.
- Ensure adherence to Agile life cycle standards at both team and scaled levels.
- Remove team impediments to maintain sustainable and predictable delivery.
- Track initiative processes, deliverables, metrics, and financials.
- Prepare and present value and improvement reports to stakeholders.
- Coach, mentor, and support Agile teams in developing a continuous-improvement mindset.
Required Qualifications:
- One of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe, or LeSS.
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience (work, education, transferable skills, or military experience considered).
- Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Ability to leverage data to tell a compelling story.
- Demonstrated success in building highly engaged teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, people management, and portfolio management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Proven ability to connect high-level strategy with actionable tactics.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capability.
- Ability to work effectively across a highly matrixed organization.
- Experience creating business documentation such as business cases or requirements summaries.
- Experience with Agile planning tools (e.g., Jira, Mural).
- High school diploma or equivalent and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of Agile team experience or direct Scrum Master experience.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira), portfolio management tools, or Mural.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience using data to inform decisions and independently resolve issues.
