We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Mobile Engineering Systems team, drive implementation and improve efficiency of client build, release, and validation gating across multiple platforms, devices, and operating systems. Our infrastructure allows feature teams to deliver a new feature to millions of users in the order of minutes in an automated fashion. By automating repetitive tasks, you will play a key role in improving operational efficiency, reducing response times, and enabling the feature team developers to be more efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Build tools/bots to improve developer productivity, contribute ideas to continuously improve our systems, and drive actionable code and product quality feedback. 
  • Design, develop and maintain engineering infrastructure, tools, and services that power the CI/CD for Microsoft Teams across different Mobile clients and platforms.
  • Build tools/bots/agents and leverage AI to improve developer productivity, contribute ideas to continuously improve our systems, and drive actionable code and product quality feedback. 
  • Champion best practices, tools, and processes for a data-driven, quality-focused release of Microsoft Teams as frequently as possible to our customers. 
  • Embody our culture and values.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of coding experience in an object-oriented programming language, with knowledge of Python, Java, Swift/ Kotlin
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in writing unit tests and functional tests using tools such as Espresso for Android or equivalent tools for iOS.
  • Excellent problem-solving & debugging skills..
  • Experience of shipping features and with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) processes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining engineering infrastructure tools/bots.
  • Experience building Tools/Bots/Agents for improving developer productivity.
  • Min 2+ years of experience in automation engineering, process automation, or related fields.
  • Good to have experience in MCP & A2A architecture and agentic AI.
  • Basic understanding of AI/LLM.
Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of VSCode, PowerBi, OpenAI.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps.
