Role Overview
We’re hiring a Network Engineer (SaaS / Cloud Networking) with 1–2 years of experience to help keep our platform reachable, fast, and secure because in SaaS, “networking” is not just about cables and routers. It’s about cloud networking, traffic routing, DNS, security controls, and making sure customers can log in and use the product without drama.
You’ll work closely with DevOps/SRE and Security teams to support day-to-day network operations, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and maintain reliable cloud network setups. You’ll also support our on-ground network stack where needed—especially around Fortigate firewall setups and Ruckus Wireless environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day network operations across production and non-production environments
- Assist with cloud networking components: VPC/VNet, subnets, route tables, NAT/Internet gateways, security groups/NACLs
- Help maintain traffic layers like DNS, load balancers, SSL/TLS basics, and (where applicable) CDN/WAF support
- Troubleshoot issues like timeouts, latency spikes, DNS misrouting, SSL handshake errors, VPN/IP allowlisting problems
- Support secure access requirements: IP whitelisting, VPN connectivity, and basic access control checks
- Assist in configuring and managing Fortigate firewalls (policies, NAT rules, VPN basics, logs, and access controls)
- Support office and hybrid environments using Ruckus Wireless (AP health checks, connectivity troubleshooting, basic configuration support)
- Maintain and update network documentation (diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, change logs)
- Assist in setting up and maintaining monitoring/alerting for network health and uptime
- Participate in incident response support: triage, issue isolation, RCA inputs, and follow-up fixes
- Coordinate with DevOps/SRE to ensure changes are safe and production-ready (no “oops” deployments)
- 1–2 years of experience in Network Engineering / NOC / Cloud Ops / IT Infra support
- Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing basics, SSL/TLS concepts
- Comfortable with Linux basics (network commands, logs, troubleshooting)
- Exposure to at least one cloud platform (AWS / Azure / GCP) and basic networking concepts within it
- Understanding of security basics: firewalls, access rules, security groups, least privilege mindset
- Basic familiarity with firewall operations (policy rules, NAT, VPN concepts, log checks)—Fortigate exposure is a plus
- Ability to write clear issue reports with reproduction steps, evidence, and impact (network bugs need good storytelling)
Qualifications
Must have skills
- Hands-on familiarity with Fortigate (FortiGate) firewall: firewall policies, NAT, VPN basics, troubleshooting via logs
- Experience with Ruckus Wireless: AP troubleshooting, controller basics, connectivity issue diagnosis
- Familiarity with AWS Route 53 / ELB / CloudFront (or equivalent Azure/GCP services)
- Exposure to WAF/DDoS concepts (Cloudflare, AWS WAF, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
- Any experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, Prometheus)
- Basic scripting (Bash/Python) to automate repetitive operational tasks
- Curiosity about how SaaS systems break at scale and how to prevent repeat incidents
