Network Engineer (Data Centre / NOC)
Location: London, UK (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £65k per annum
Our client is a leading, technology-driven organisation operating at the cutting edge of data, infrastructure, and high-performance systems. With a strong focus on innovation and engineering excellence, they build and maintain complex, large-scale environments that support critical global operations.
You'll provide advanced monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementation support across a data centre environment, bridging the gap between NOC operations and engineering. The focus is on maintaining uptime, resolving incidents efficiently, and supporting continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2 / Layer 3 network issues
- Implement network changes (DNS, IP management, firewall rules)
- Support and maintain enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto / Fortigate)
- Manage incidents independently and escalate where required
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with internal teams to support a 24/7 environment
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong knowledge of routing & switching (CCNP-level or equivalent)
- Experience in a network monitoring / NOC or data centre environment
- Hands-on troubleshooting across network infrastructure and services
- Experience with firewalls and network security principles
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (Infoblox desirable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
