We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Control Advisory team at Mercer Super. This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. If you’re an ambitious professional with a passion for precision and a keen eye for detail, this Reporting Analyst role offers a thrilling opportunity to dive deep into risk data analysis and reporting. The Reporting Analyst will support data analysis and reporting activities related to risk management and compliance, working closely with the Data and Reporting Lead. You will play a key role in establishing and standardising operational risk data to enhance data-driven decision-making and improve risk data governance across business units.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the establishment, capture, monitoring, and reporting of operational risk data to aid analytics and business decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with the Data and Reporting Lead to launch innovative forums and projects that elevate risk data governance and reporting standards across the organisation
  • Assist in creating and automating reports and dashboards by extracting, validating and consolidating data from multiple sources, performing trend and variance analyses, and presenting concise, actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate coordination and standardisation of data inputs across business units for comprehensive internal risk reporting
  • Leverage data integration from multiple sources to inform risk management strategies and enhance organisational resilience
  • Assist in performing proactive trend analysis to identify key risk hotspots and rolling out training to stakeholders and contributors on data processes, tools, and reporting to enhance their understanding and effective use of data in risk management
  • Maintain clear documentation for data sources, transformations, and reporting logic
  • Manage multiple priorities with a strong delivery focus while working independently and under direction

What you need to have:

  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query to manipulate and analyse complex datasets
  • Strong SQL experience for data extraction and transformation
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, dashboards, and visualisations
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills for leadership and board-level reporting
  • Experience with Power Automate to streamline data refreshes, reporting workflows, and approvals

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience with GRC systems such as ServiceNow and SharePoint
  • Familiarity with Databricks or large-scale data platforms, plus a genuine interest in building AI bots and automating processes
  • High attention to detail and a strong delivery mindset with a collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Experience in risk management, compliance, data or business analysis within the superannuation or broader financial services industries

Willingness to continuously improve, learn, and adapt to new technologies and tools in the data management space
