ABOUT US

Peter Park digitalizes parking lots. Our mission is to replace every physical barrier with modern computer vision technology, paper-based receipts with big touch screen terminals, your smartphone, and cloud microservices. Our goal is to integrate every parking lot into the digital mobility ecosystem of the current generation and offer a range of secondary services to make better use of the limited parking capacities. Right now, we at Peter Park run over 500 edge devices in three different countries that handle thousands of parking and payment transactions per hour. Peter Park's physical infrastructure relies on distributed, python based backend services on AWS. As a Senior Backend Developer, we want you to be part of the backend and DevOps team that maintains them and is involved in every new feature that we roll out to our users and customers.

OUR OBJECTIVES AND YOUR ROLE

• Development of our backend which serves as the operation system for car parking
• Work on our CI pipeline and monitoring system of our IoT hardware distributed all over Germany
• Help to scale up our systems from handling tens to thousands of parking lots
• You will help shaping our engineering culture by using modern software engineering practices by focusing on writing clean, well-tested and well-refactored code
• You will ship code into production on a continuous basis
• Working on a SaaS product in the interface of mobility and prop tech

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

• You have least 4+ years experience using Python, C++ or related
• You have experience in software engineering of larger projects, preferably B2B or SaaS products
• You have a profound knowledge of Python and experience with one of the popular frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask)
• You have a deep knowledge of SQL
• You take ownership for the code you write
• Strong written and spoken English (level C1). German is not required

WHAT WE WORK WITH

• Frontend written in Vue.js.
• Backend in Python using the Flask Web Framework following a microservice architecture.
• PostgresSQL and AWS S3 for data persistence.
• Kubernetes for container orchestration and GitLab CI/CD.
• Infrastructure on AWS provisioned using Terraform.
