Clara Cares brings professional advice and support online so everyone can get help when they need it, in an accessible, secure, and privacy focused way. In close collaboration with non-profit organisations and public institutions, we are building an online infrastructure that integrates into people’s lives regardless of age, education, income, or ability. Our platform connects users with counselling services across social and health domains from housing guidance to career orientation, care advice, and more and we’re now scaling our systems to support the next phase of growth.
You will work closely with backend and mobile teams, making infrastructure decisions that empower developers, enhance resilience, and elevate the way we deliver software. In addition, you will contribute to our Go backend services or be willing to grow into this area.
If you are experienced in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tooling and if you care about building infrastructure and backend services that developers love and that users depend on we want to hear from you.
Tasks
- Partner with backend team and QA on service rollouts, scaling decisions, database migrations.
- Own and configure the observability stack, including Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and log aggregation systems.
- See the “big picture” of the whole solution to be able to determine the root causes of problems
- Support in performance testing and analyse results to suggest software and infrastructure optimisation
- Contribute to backend development in Go (small features, maintenance, and automation tasks)
- CI/CD pipeline ownership: Design, build, and maintain deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions)
- Manage releases, version control, deployment procedures
- Investigate and suggest improvements to current infrastructure set up by staying up to date with the latest technologies and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience with AWS (EKS, RDS, ALB, EC2, SG, Amplify) including experience with scaling and autoscaling
- Understanding of AWS pricing models and their implications, able to suggest cost optimization improvements
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Relational databases and SQL queries
- Proficient with Kubernetes
- Minimum 5 years of experience with container technologies (Docker)
- Deep experience with AWS networking (VPCs, load balancers, Route 53, DNS) to support multi-tenant domain setups and customized routing for complex platforms.
- Experience with Terragrunt (in addition to Terraform)
- Understanding of
+ CI/CD systems — designing and maintaining pipelines, not just using them
+ Go code — able to understand API deployments and database migrations, and ideally contribute to simple features (or strong willingness to learn)
+ Event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS)
+ Infrastructure as a code principle using Terraform
