Why us?

Bitmovin is looking for a UX Engineer who does not stop at designing, We are looking for someone who combines the skills of both a UX Designer and a Frontend Developer. This role owns the end-to-end experience of our Dashboard, from understanding user needs to designing and implementing solutions directly in code. You will drive design decisions across product, engineering, and leadership, using experimentation and data to continuously improve the user experience.

This position is roughly 50% UX design and 50% development, requiring strong design thinking and collaboration skills, along with the ability to implement designs using React and TypeScript with Mantine UI. You will work closely with product development teams, contribute to the component library and design system, and use tools like Figma to communicate clear, well-structured design solutions

Our engineering teams are primarily focused on building and scaling the core capabilities of our API-driven products. As a result, while the underlying functionality is powerful, the way it surfaces in our Dashboard doesn’t always fully reflect that potential.

This role exists to close that gap: by bringing UX thinking directly into implementation and shaping how users actually experience our products. You will primarily work on the Bitmovin Dashboard , the central interface for our Encoder, Player, and Analytics products.

Your Impact

You will make an impact that matters by:

• Shaping the user experience of Bitmovin’s products end-to-end — influencing design decisions across product, engineering, and leadership while clearly communicating your thinking, defending your rationale, and building alignment across teams.
• Turning ideas into real product experiences — moving seamlessly from UX exploration and experimentation to implemented solutions that improve usability, performance, and customer value.
• Leveraging modern design workflows — whether through traditional design methods, AI-assisted workflows, or new approaches that help you move faster and think better.
• Bringing clarity to design thinking — creating well-structured, well-communicated design work (typically in Figma) where the strength of the ideas matters more than the tools used. You integrate your work into a live product — not just prototypes.
• Bridging design and engineering — working closely with product development teams to implement your designs in React and TypeScript using Mantine UI, while helping evolve our component library and design system.
• Using modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Codex, Claude, Cursor) to iterate faster, prototype efficiently, and reduce dependency on others.

What can you bring

• Experience designing AND implementing user interfaces in production
• Experience building frontend applications using React and TypeScript (or similar frameworks)
• Proven experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar
• Experience working in B2B, enterprise products, internal tools, or SAAS environments
• Portfolio of work showing digital product design experience
• Solid understanding of UX and user-centric design processes with data-driven analytics capabilities
• Ability to influence others to set and achieve goals and deadlines
• Ability to prioritize and manage projects
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with technical software products or API-based products
• Expertise with Figma
• Experience with React and/or TypeScript
• Experience in a product-led growth environment
• Experience working on live products (e.g. SaaS platforms, internal tools, dashboards) rather than one-off launches
• Technical background and experience in Online Video Streaming is a plus
