Mission

As a Unity Team Lead, you'll play a key role in driving both the technical excellence and the engineering evolution of a live, revenue-generating mobile game. You will own the management of a senior Unity development team while contributing directly as a hands-on engineer: keeping the bar high on craft, embedding AI into how the team works, and ensuring every technical decision is made with live-game discipline.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Own people management for your team: run performance reviews, support career growth, and create the conditions for a high-performing, engaged engineering team
  • Deliver as a senior IC on live technical projects: write production-quality Unity code, contribute to architecture decisions, and drive implementation on impactful features
  • Lead AI adoption within the team: proactively test and embed new AI tools, share wins, and accelerate the team's ability to use what's possible
  • Act as a technical knowledge multiplier: identify automation opportunities, expand the team's understanding of backend and AI systems, and raise engineering standards continuously
  • Manage a live, scaling game with production care: balance technical ambition with revenue-conscious delivery, ensuring changes are robust, measured, and safe to ship

Requirements

We are looking for someone with proven experience as a senior Unity engineer who has also led and grown engineering teams, and the humility, curiosity, ambition, and drive to make an impact fast. You're a great fit if you have:

  • Senior Unity expertise: you write clean, robust Unity/C# code, own architecture decisions, and set the technical standard for your team
  • Proven engineering management experience: you've led engineers through hiring, performance cycles, and day-to-day management, and you do it with structure and empathy
  • Clear, adaptable communication: you know how to translate technical complexity for any audience and keep collaboration sharp across functions
  • Active AI curiosity: you test tools on your own initiative, understand what's possible, and think constantly about how AI can accelerate your team's output
  • Strong ownership mindset: you go beyond your defined scope, spot problems before they're raised, and drive solutions without waiting to be asked
  • Problem-solving depth: you break down complex technical challenges, structure clear hypotheses, and execute with rigour

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience shipping and maintaining live, revenue-generating mobile games, especially puzzle games at scale
  • Backend or server-side knowledge that enhances your ability to build AI-powered workflows and automations
  • A track record of navigating technically complex changes on a live product under production constraints
