Technical Project Manager – Distributed Systems & Digital Payments (m/f/d) | Financial Services | Remote | Part-Time Contract


Our client is an established organisation within the financial services sector, supporting the development of modern digital transaction and payment solutions. They are seeking a freelance Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in distributed technologies to support a strategic initiative.


Project Details:

Start: May 2026

End: December 2026

Workload: 2 days per week (part-time)

Location: Frankfurt / Remote


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of complex digital payment and transaction projects within a regulated environment.
  • Act as the interface between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear translation of requirements into technical solutions.
  • Manage timelines, risks, dependencies, and overall project governance.
  • Coordinate the integration of distributed systems into existing IT and payment infrastructures.
  • Oversee implementation phases including development, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Facilitate workshops and support decision-making across cross-functional teams.


Requirements:

  • Experience as a Technical Project Manager in financial services, fintech, or digital payments.
  • Strong technical understanding of blockchain, distributed ledger technologies (DLT), and tokenisation concepts.
  • Experience working with modern system architectures, APIs, and integration of digital transaction platforms.
  • Proven track record delivering complex IT or transformation projects in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with agile (Scrum, SAFe) and classical project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2).
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on digital asset or token-based payment initiatives.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks within financial services.
  • Technical background or prior hands-on experience in software development or architecture.
