Job Description

Senior Sales Manager - Tieto Banktech (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Senior Sales Manager who wants to be part of Tieto Banktech. Tieto Banktech powers some of the Nordics’ most trusted banking systems with secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. Using automation, data, AI, and cloud, supported by hands-on guidance, we help banks modernize their core, strengthen trust, and deliver greater impact across the banking experience.

Duties And Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify, research, and target potential new customers in assigned countries/regions.
  • Actively build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities across the full sales cycle.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting (calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, industry networks) to generate new leads.
  • Map customer needs, pain points and decision-making processes to position Tieto payment solutions effectively.

Solution Sales

  • Sell IRPC software and services (Card Suite, Instant Payments, Retail Payments, E-commerce solutions, etc.) to new customers.
  • Support other Tieto Business Units with cross-sales.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations, proposals, and commercial offers.
  • Lead negotiations and drive opportunities toward successful contract closure.
  • Ensure accurate qualification, forecasting, and updating of the sales pipeline.

Market & Partner Engagement

  • Represent Tieto at conferences, industry events, and partner forums across assigned regions.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders: banks, fintechs, PSPs, payment processors, technology partners, and associations.
  • Develop partner networks that support lead generation and new sales channels.
  • Monitor competitive landscape, market trends, and emerging opportunities.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Pre-Sales, Delivery, Legal, and BID Management teams to support bids and RFP/RFI responses.
  • Provide structured input to product roadmap based on market needs and customer feedback.
  • Maintain transparent communication with management regarding pipeline status, risks, and required actions.

1.5 Reporting & Compliance

  • Update EDGEcrm systems accurately and in a timely manner (pipeline, opportunities, forecasts).
  • Ensure sales processes are followed according to internal guidelines and governance rules.
  • Deliver bi-weekly/monthly status update on progress toward potential opportunities and targets.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Experience & Domain Knowledge
  • Minimum 3–5 years of B2B sales experience in software, fintech, or IT solutions (preferably payments or financial services).
  • Solid understanding of cards, payments, digital banking, e-commerce, or related domains.
  • Proven track record of hunting new business and achieving individual sales targets.
  • Strong ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with C-level and senior decision-makers.
  • High level of self-drive, independence, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel across assigned markets.
  • Fluent English required; Swedish, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish and Latvian is an advantage depending on assigned region.
