Observability Engineer
Location : Luxembourg
Languages : French and English
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in observability and monitoring to support Event Management activities and contribute to standard IT Event Management methodologies.
- Configure, administer, and optimize monitoring tools (primarily Centreon) to ensure comprehensive coverage across infrastructure and applications.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards, views, and alerting rules to deliver clear visibility into system availability, performance, and capacity.
- Analyze metrics, events, and trends to detect anomalies, identify root causes, and propose remediation actions to enhance system stability and reliability.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure and application teams to define monitoring requirements and implement best practices across services.
- Generate and interpret reports on system performance, reliability, and event trends, providing actionable insights to IT and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to Continual Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives, including documenting standards, guidelines, and procedures related to monitoring and observability.
- Support ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change) by ensuring monitoring data is effectively utilized for faster detection, resolution, and prevention of issues.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field (or equivalent experience).
- ITIL Foundation v4 or v5 certification.
- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to recommend improvements for observability platforms.
- Familiarity with ITSM processes that use monitoring data (Incident, Problem, Change, Asset) and ability to generate KPI reports.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to interpret metrics and events.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and customer service skills.
- Fluency in French and English.
- Experience with ServiceNow ITSM processes (around 1 year).
- Knowledge of Linux, MariaDB, and Centreon.
- Experience designing or improving ITSM/ITOM dashboards and reports.
- Exposure to automation or scripting for monitoring, alerting, or reporting improvements.
- Experience contributing to process documentation or CSI initiatives related to monitoring and observability.
