We are looking for a Data Scientist to join an international tech hub in Lisbon.
Work setup: Hybrid – Lisbon, Portugal – 2 days on-site per week / 3 days remote.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and improve analytical and machine learning models to solve business problems and deliver measurable value
- Perform exploratory data analysis, data preparation, and feature engineering to support robust model development
- Develop, train, tune, and validate supervised and unsupervised machine learning models
- Apply statistical methods and probability concepts to analyze data, test hypotheses, and support decision-making
- Query and analyze data using SQL to extract insights and support model development
- Create clear visualizations and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to ML experimentation, model evaluation, and validation processes using standard tools and best practices
- Collaborate across multiple data teams to ensure quality, reliability, and alignment throughout the model lifecycle
Must-have requirements:
- 3 years of professional experience in data science environments
- Strong experience with Python, including NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn
- Good understanding of machine learning model development, tuning, and validation for supervised and unsupervised approaches
- Solid experience in exploratory data analysis and feature engineering
- Strong foundation in statistics and probability
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and querying
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Power BI, or Tableau
- Understanding of ML experimentation tools and MLOps fundamentals
- Basic familiarity with cloud ML platforms such as Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, or GCP Vertex AI
- English proficiency at B2 level or above
