π Project Overview
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer specialized in Observability to lead a strategic migration from Splunk to New Relic and help define observability standards across engineering platforms.
You will play a key role in establishing governance, implementing monitoring best practices, and enabling engineering teams with modern observability capabilities.
π― Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of monitoring systems from Splunk to New Relic, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption across engineering teams.
- Define and implement observability governance including account structures, tagging strategies, alerting standards, dashboards, and SLO frameworks.
- Establish and promote observability best practices and ways of working across multiple engineering teams.
- Implement end-to-end observability capabilities including logging, APM, infrastructure monitoring, distributed tracing, synthetics, and integrations.
- Partner with application teams to support service onboarding, instrumentation, and monitoring adoption.
- Automate observability setup and configurations using Terraform and integrate into GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
- Act as a technical advisor on Azure, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and observability architecture.
- Ensure monitoring strategies are aligned with SLIs/SLOs and reliability objectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
β Required Experience
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with New Relic including APM, infrastructure monitoring, logs, dashboards, alerting, distributed tracing, synthetics, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices, including modular design, provisioning, state management, and automation.
- Solid experience working with Azure Cloud, including resource management, networking, IAM, governance, and cost optimization.
- Strong experience with GitHub and CI/CD practices, including GitHub Actions, workflow automation, and repository governance.
- Practical experience implementing observability frameworks and monitoring strategies aligned with SLIs/SLOs.
- Experience working in complex engineering environments collaborating with multiple development teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Professional level of English.
