About the Project

We are hiring a Senior Full Stack AI / LLM Engineer to take full ownership of an AI driven e-commerce product within a live retail environment. This is not a pure R and D role. The engineer will operate with high autonomy in a space without a traditional hands on manager, acting as both technical lead and product driver.

The role requires someone commercially minded, proactive, and highly engaged. You will be responsible not only for building and improving AI capabilities, but also for identifying opportunities, engaging stakeholders, prioritising features, and driving initiatives from idea to production.

This is a true end to end ownership role across product discovery, technical implementation, stakeholder engagement.

Senior Full Stack AI / LLM Engineer

About the Project:

We are hiring a Senior Full Stack AI / LLM Engineer to take full ownership of an AI driven e-commerce product within a live retail environment.

This is not a machine learning research role. The focus is on building production ready AI powered applications using modern LLM frameworks and Python based backend systems.

The engineer will operate with high autonomy in a space without a traditional hands on manager, acting as both technical lead and product driver. You will take ownership of identifying opportunities, building AI powered features, and driving improvements to the product experience.

This is a true end to end ownership role spanning product discovery, technical implementation, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the AI powered product end to end within a live e commerce platform
• Design and implement LLM powered application features such as assistants, retrieval systems, and AI driven product experiences
• Build and improve RAG based systems and agent driven workflows
• Analyse customer behaviour and identify opportunities to improve engagement and conversion
• Proactively propose, prioritise, and implement new AI driven capabilities
• Translate business needs into scalable backend solutions using Python
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to define APIs, user stories, and feature implementations
• Balance production support, optimisation, experimentation, and new feature delivery
• Ensure reliable deployment and continuous improvement of AI driven features in production
• Act as the technical driver of the product in the absence of a structured managerial layer

Key Requirements:

• At least 7+ years overall software engineering experience
• At least 2+ years of AI Engineering Experience
• Full stack Engineer with product oriented mindset
• Strong system design skills for scalable AI-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications in production
• Experience developing RAG systems, AI agents, and prompt-driven applications
• Experience integrating LLMs into live products using modern frameworks and APIs
• Knowledge of search technologies, vector databases, embeddings, and semantic retrieval
• Strong understanding of context management and prompt engineering for LLMs
• Ability to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in e-commerce platforms, particularly customer engagement, search, recommendation, or conversion optimisation
• Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks or context engineering approaches
• Experience building AI driven assistants or conversational interfaces
• Familiarity with modern LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar tools

Not the Focus of This Role:

This role does not require deep machine learning research or model training experience.

Experience with the following is not required:

• Training transformers
• Building ML models from scratch
• PyTorch model development
• GPU training pipelines

The role focuses on building AI powered applications using existing LLM models and modern application frameworks.
