Client: Consulting/Banking
Location: 3 days a week onsite, Toronto, ON
Contract Length: 6 months, renewable
Contract Rate: $50-60/hr Incorporated
Experience and Education
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- 6-8 years of Scrum Master experience (Banking Technology)
- Experience with Payments or Regulatory projects preferred
- Experience working with high‑performing teams in time‑sensitive environments
- Tools experience: JIRA, Confluence
Role Description
- Supports 1–2 simple to complex Agile pods/teams
- Shares knowledge, skills, information, and subject‑matter expertise across Agile teams
- Ensures timely communication of issues and promotes strong working relationships across functions
- Fosters an environment where teams freely escalate challenges and supports change through positive reinforcement
- Participates fully as a member of Product Groups/Product Families, promoting service quality, innovation, and teamwork
- Provides thought leadership and industry knowledge related to Agile execution
- Stays current on emerging trends, business updates, and Agile tools/techniques
- Collaborates with Product Owners, Technology Leads, and Teams on sprint planning, impediment removal, and execution
- Coordinates and facilitates all Agile ceremony logistics (Daily Stand‑up, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, PI Planning, Backlog Grooming)
- Ensures ceremonies occur on time with full team participation
- Provides end‑to‑end facilitation of Agile processes
- Coaches teams on user story creation and Agile best practices
- Produces management reporting using JIRA, including storytelling around team velocity and performance
- Supports estimation practices using appropriate estimation methods
- Works closely with teams on delivery activities and improving Agile maturity
