Job Role
As an Associate, you will play a key role in facilitating the adoption of disruptive technologies from the startup ecosystem for the Defence Technology Community (DTC). You will be exposed to emerging technologies such as spacetech, quantum, advanced manufacturing, synthetic biology, and AI/DA, while engaging with the dynamic international startup ecosystem. You will work closely with MINDEF users, DTC colleagues, entrepreneurs, and partners from agencies such as Enterprise Singapore, the National Research Foundation, A*STAR, as well as international trade and defence entities, venture builders, and corporate innovators.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Cap Vista in formulating strategies and frameworks to harness dual-use technologies and innovation from startups.
- Collaborate with the Cap Vista team to identify and realise business value from commercial technologies, including tech and operations push initiatives such as the Cap Vista Accelerator.
- Develop technology harnessing strategies to drive new capabilities.
- Assess and articulate the value proposition of technological solutions in relation to operational concepts.
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in partnerships within startups, venture capital, or deep-tech-related agencies.
- Strong interest in the startup ecosystem and early-stage companies, with a willingness to quickly build expertise in venture capital and expand your professional network.
- Passion for technology and innovation, with the ability to learn and adapt across diverse technical domains.
- Self-starter with strong analytical skills and a well-developed point of view.
- High energy, strong work ethic, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage C-level executives across startups, government entities, and industry players.
