We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in Coraopolis, 15108. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing search ranking models using Learn to Rank approaches.

Location: 100% Remote

About the Role:

We are looking for a Data Scientist with strong expertise in vector search and Learn-to-Rank (LTR) to build and optimize modern search and recommendation systems. The ideal candidate will work on improving semantic retrieval, ranking quality, and user relevance using advanced machine learning techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement vector search systems using embeddings for semantic search and similarity matching
• Develop and optimize Learn-to-Rank (LTR) models to improve search result relevance
• Build end-to-end Machine Learning pipelines for ranking, retrieval, and recommendation systems
• Perform feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and tuning for ranking models
• Work with large-scale datasets and real-time search architectures
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy scalable search solutions
• Monitor and improve search performance using metrics like NDCG, MAP, and CTR

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in vector search and embedding-based retrieval systems
• Expertise in Learn-to-Rank (LTR) techniques (pointwise, pairwise, listwise approaches)
• Solid foundation in machine learning, statistics, and data modeling
• Proficiency in Python and Machine Learning libraries (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience with search platforms like Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Salary and Other Compensation:The annual salary for this position is between [$120,000 - 140,000 annually].  Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
