Golang Engineer
Location: Bristol - Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Rate: £500 per day inside IR35
Duration: 6 months initially
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled Golang Engineer to join a mobile security-focused engineering team. You will contribute to the development and optimisation of secure, scalable backend services that support mobile applications used across a large financial organisation. The team provides a suite of mobile security components, penetration services, obfuscation capabilities and consultancy designed to ensure a robust security posture across all mobile channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop secure, scalable, enterprise-grade applications using Go.
- Optimise and fine-tune backend services to meet demanding non-functional requirements.
- Maintain and troubleshoot secure Go microservices within a complex distributed environment.
- Collaborate closely with engineering squads to strengthen security across mobile applications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support containerised deployments across Kubernetes environments using Helm.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong experience maintaining and troubleshooting secure Go microservices.
- Proficiency with REST APIs, containerisation, and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Helm deployments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong understanding of best coding practices, code management, agile methodologies and continuous delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team or independently.
Desirable
- Background in Java development.
- Familiarity with SQL databases.
- Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk.
