As an AI Engineer at Faktion, you'll work on a wide variety of projects across industries like manufacturing, finance, and operations. You don't just build prototypes. You do deep engineering, ship to production, and make sure what you build actually gets adopted and used. We are hiring a highly motivated AI Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will work closely with software engineers, and product managers to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that drive measurable impact for our customers.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing end-to-end AI solutions spanning GenAI, classical ML, computer vision, and agentic systems, tailored to the specific needs of enterprise customers.
  • Translating ambiguous customer problems into concrete technical architectures, engaging directly with clients to define requirements and align on objectives.
  • Developing and deploying production-ready AI backends using tools like Python, FastAPI, and Docker, with a strong focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Building and maintaining evaluation pipelines, including LLM-as-a-Judge agents, to ensure continuous quality assurance from development through to production.
  • Developing and maintaining MLOps pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, and monitoring.
  • Conducting research to stay current with the latest advancements in generative AI, machine learning, computer vision, and deep learning, and identifying opportunities to apply them for our customers.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure AI solutions align with broader business goals and customer expectations.
  • Developing clear and concise documentation, including technical specifications and presentations, to communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Providing technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in native Dutch and English (French is a plus).
  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. A Master's or PhD is a strong plus.
  • You have solid hands-on experience building and deploying AI systems, whether GenAI, classical ML, computer vision, or a combination.
  • You are proficient in Python and have experience with relevant frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, LangChain, or LangFuse.
  • You are comfortable working across the AI stack, from prompt engineering and RAG architecture to model training, evaluation pipelines, and cloud deployment.
  • You are familiar with cloud-based platforms and services, such as Azure.
  • You have experience with containerisation tools such as Docker and API development frameworks such as FastAPI.
  • You possess strong problem-solving skills and can think critically and creatively to develop innovative AI solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills and can effectively convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • You possess a proactive mindset and can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Following experiences are a plus:

  • Showing your passion through GitHub repos, open-source contributions, or prior engagements in Kaggle competitions.
  • Experience with computer vision techniques such as synthetic data generation, object detection, or image segmentation.
  • Experience with MLOps tooling, including CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
  • Exposure to agentic frameworks and multi-agent system design.
  • Publications in relevant AI/ML conferences and journals.
  • Experience in one of our focus domains: Data Quality, Retail, Manufacturing, Finance.

We offer:

  • A rewarding salary package that includes additional perks like a company car and fuel card or a mobility budget, comprehensive hospitalisation, group insurance, and a top-tier laptop and smartphone.
  • Benefit from a company culture that stimulates both individual and team development, fostering professional growth.
  • Utilise your innovation budget for engaging in exciting, educational, and challenging open-source projects within your guild.
  • Participate in team-building activities and gatherings, a great opportunity to unwind and engage with our vibrant team initiatives.
  • A flexible hybrid working policy to choose where, how, and when you want to work.
