Automation Test Lead – Mobile (Android & iOS)

Contract Role – Dublin (3 days onsite)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Lead with strong experience in mobile application testing across Android and iOS platforms. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, responsible for functional device testing as well as developing and delivering automated testing solutions across mobile applications.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product and QA teams to ensure mobile applications meet functional, non-functional and performance requirements, while maintaining high quality standards across mobile platforms and releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on Test Lead and individual contributor across mobile testing and automation.
• Perform functional testing on physical devices across Android and iOS platforms.
• Design and implement mobile automation solutions across the testing lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks for mobile applications, including regression, integration and UI testing.
• Ensure releases meet functional, performance and usability requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain a prioritised backlog of testing and automation tasks aligned to product delivery timelines.
• Act as the primary technical contact for testing and quality engineering queries related to mobile applications.
• Work closely with engineering, product owners and release teams to ensure successful app releases.
• Ensure automated testing is integrated into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
• Support multiple mobile projects and work effectively as part of cross-functional Agile teams.

Experience Required

• 8–10+ years of experience in software testing.
• Strong experience in mobile testing across Android and iOS.
• Experience in functional testing on real devices as well as emulators/simulators.
• Proven experience building or maintaining mobile automation frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience working closely with engineering and product teams.
• Experience supporting multiple releases and projects simultaneously.

Technical Skills

Experience with some or all of the following:

• Mobile automation tools such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Detox
• Automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright (where applicable)
• Programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, JavaScript, Python
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps
• Test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail or Zephyr
• Experience testing on real devices, emulators and device farms
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured is beneficial

Mobile Testing Experience (Required)

Strong experience in:

• Android and iOS application testing
• Functional testing on physical devices
• Testing on emulators and simulators
• Mobile automation testing
• Regression testing for mobile releases
• Working with mobile release cycles and app deployments
• Testing across multiple devices, OS versions and screen sizes
• Performance and usability testing for mobile applications

Contract Details

• Day rate contract
• 6 month initial contract
• Dublin based
• 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
