Backbone Engineer (m/f)

Your Responsibilities:

As a Backbone Engineer, you will:

• Design, document, configure, and maintain IP infrastructures including backbone networks, internet platforms, and SD-WAN solutions.
• Implement and manage interconnections with core service platforms.
• Support pre-sales teams by contributing to customized enterprise connectivity projects.
• Ensure deployment, configuration, and service delivery of tailor-made connectivity solutions.
• Monitor daily service quality, handle alarms, and troubleshoot incidents collaboratively.
• Provide remote support to field engineers and subcontractors.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous service availability.

Your Profile:

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience configuring, maintaining, and optimizing service provider networks.
• Advanced knowledge of IP/MPLS routing, BGP v4/v6, traffic engineering, BNG, and multicast routing.
• Understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and DDoS mitigation is a plus.
• Familiarity with Cisco routing/switching; knowledge of active DWDM networks is a bonus.
• Experience with scripting/automation tools is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a rigorous, pragmatic, and collaborative approach.
• Excellent communication skills in English and French; German and/or Luxembourgish is a plus
