About QoplaQopla was founded by restaurant owners in 2018 with a simple goal: to help restaurants run their operations more smoothly and intelligently. Today, more than 2,000 restaurants rely on Qopla for table ordering, self-service kiosks, and online ordering.
We build and operate business-critical systems used daily in real restaurant environments — where downtime directly impacts revenue. Reliability, stability, and scalability are at the core of everything we do.
The RoleWe are looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer (AWS) to take ownership of our existing cloud platform and infrastructure.
You will take over and evolve our AWS-based Kubernetes environment, ensuring it is extremely stable, highly available, and scalable — with a strong focus on zero downtime and proactive operations.
This is not a “set up from scratch” role — it’s about improving, hardening, and scaling a system already running in production at real scale.
This is primarily an on-site role based in our Solna office, working closely with the CTO. Some hybrid flexibility is possible, but we believe close collaboration is key for this role.
What You’ll Work WithOur platform includes:
- Kubernetes (EKS) on AWS
- Java (Spring Boot) services
- Node.js / NestJS services
- MongoDB, Redis
- Kafka and event-driven systems
- React and React Native applications
- Take ownership of our AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure
- Ensure high stability, uptime, and zero-downtime deployments
- Proactively identify weaknesses and eliminate potential failures before they happen
- Set up and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability
- Design and maintain reliable backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Optimize performance, scalability, and cost in production environments
- Improve CI/CD and deployment workflows for safe and predictable releases
- Work closely with developers to ensure systems are built for reliability from day one
- Strong experience running production systems on AWS and Kubernetes
- Proven track record of building stable, highly available systems
- Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems
- Solid understanding of observability, monitoring, and incident response
- Experience with databases like MongoDB and Redis in production
- Experience working with event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka)
- Pragmatic mindset — you focus on what actually works in production
- Experience with on-premise infrastructure or hybrid cloud setups (we are exploring hosting some services ourselves)
- Interest in hardware and infrastructure beyond the cloud
- Willingness to take ownership of internal hardware (e.g., preparing and managing staff laptops and basic office infrastructure) as a smaller side responsibility since we still are a small company.
- Real-world impact — your work runs in restaurants every day
- Full ownership of a live, business-critical platform
- Small, experienced team with fast decision-making
- Focus on building long-term, stable systems — not hype
