Role Overview

We are seeking a AI 3D Visual Designer —someone who thinks like a filmmaker, designs with artistic restraint, and orchestrates AI tools like a production pipeline. This role sits at the intersection of cinematography, color science, 3D visualization, narrative design, and AI-driven content creation. You will translate abstract ideas, moods, and philosophies into emotionally resonant cinematic visuals—using AI as a tool, not a crutch. We are looking for taste, judgment, and storytelling instinct above all else.

Core Responsibilities

Cinematic Visual Direction

Design and direct cinematic visuals grounded in real-world filmmaking principles:

  • Lighting, exposure, contrast, and emotional tone
  • Camera language: framing, depth, lens choice, movement, rhythm
  • Application of cinematography fundamentals (Exposure Triangle, golden-hour logic, motivated light) across both 3D and AI-generated imagery

Color Grading & Film Aesthetic

Shape filmic looks with consistency and restraint:

  • Professional color grading (DaVinci Resolve or equivalent)
  • Confident handling of log / flat footage
  • Selective color control (e.g., desaturating greens, warming highlights, preserving skin tones)
  • Maintain tonal and color continuity across sequences

Prompt Engineering (Concept → Machine Language)

Translate emotions and philosophies into precise, cinematic prompts:

  • Lens type, depth of field, motion cadence
  • Lighting style, texture realism, material behavior
  • Prompt for consistency and control, not randomness

Artistic Curation (Human Taste)

Curate aggressively and patiently:

  • Review large volumes of AI output
  • Identify and reject artifacts (geometry melting, texture hallucinations, lighting inconsistencies)
  • Select only the top ~5% that meet cinematic standards

Taste > volume.

Narrative Design & AI Voice Direction

Ensure story and rhythm drive the visuals:

  • Write restrained, emotionally grounded scripts
  • Direct AI voice performances (speech-to-speech): pacing, pauses, cadence
  • Avoid robotic or over-produced delivery
  • Ensure narration supports visual rhythm rather than overpowering it

AI Pipeline & Technical Integration

Design cohesive AI production workflows:

  • Image generation (e.g., Midjourney)
  • Motion & depth (e.g., Luma)
  • Voice (e.g., ElevenLabs)
  • Edit and stitch outputs into unified cinematic sequences
  • Understand strengths, limitations, and failure modes of different models

Required Skills & Experience

Core Creative Skills

  • Strong foundation in cinematography and lighting
  • Advanced understanding of color grading and film aesthetics
  • Experience in cinematic animation or 3D visualization
  • Exceptional attention to detail and visual consistency

AI & Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with modern AI visual tools
  • Strong prompt engineering capability
  • Experience integrating image, video, audio, and post-production workflows

Human Qualities We Value Most

  • High visual judgment and restraint
  • Conceptual and emotional thinking
  • Patience and discipline in curation
  • Story-first mindset
  • Curiosity and adaptability as tools evolve

Portfolio Expectations

Your portfolio must demonstrate:

  • Cinematic lighting and camera language
  • Color grading sensibility
  • Visual consistency across shots
  • Clear narrative or emotional intent
  • AI-assisted work with evident human direction and taste

Nice to Have

  • Architectural or product visualization experience
  • Knowledge in 3ds Max, D5 render, Blender, Unreal, Adobe premiere pro, aftereffects or similar tools
  • Background in filmmaking, photography, or cinematography
  • Short cinematic films or visual essays
