About the Company
The Project Manager – Airworthiness is responsible for leading and delivering aircraft airworthiness and certification programs within a highly regulated aviation environment. Working closely with the Aviation Directorate and Program Leadership, this role ensures projects are executed in compliance with applicable aviation standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
About the Role
The position oversees end‑to‑end project planning, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and performance monitoring, with a strong focus on certification, maintenance management, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical to ensuring airworthiness objectives are met while balancing cost, schedule, quality, and risk across complex aviation programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage airworthiness-related projects in accordance with approved Statements of Work (SOWs)
- Develop, maintain, and control project plans, schedules, forecasts, and deliverables
- Identify, assess, and manage project Risks, Issues, and Opportunities (RIOs)
- Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to define and refine airworthiness and certification requirements
- Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations, military standards, and maintenance practices
- Monitor and balance project trade-offs related to cost, schedule, quality, and risk
- Prepare recovery plans, mitigation strategies, and re-baselining actions as required
- Apply industry-standard project management methodologies (PMBOK or equivalent)
- Conduct earned value, variance, and trend analyses to support informed decision-making
- Present clear and concise project status updates to senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and supporting business systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Strong background in project management (PMI/PMP certification preferred)
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 20 years of aviation industry experience
- At least 10 years in aviation maintenance management
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience managing aircraft certification or airworthiness programs
- Proven experience managing aviation projects (military or equivalent civilian programs)
- Strong knowledge of military aviation maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical and program data and develop effective solutions
