As one of our Cloud Engineers, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles. This includes maintaining and contributing to Terraform configurations, supporting Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, and applying platform reliability practices to ensure availability, performance, and recoverability.
The role involves provisioning and governing Azure resources, maintaining monitoring and observability solutions, and supporting automated infrastructure deployment and configuration. You will apply established best practices in cloud architecture, cost optimisation, and security-by-design, while providing ongoing operational support to ensure infrastructure stability and performance.
In this role you will
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including contributing to and independently developing reusable modules, managing state, and working within established workspace strategies
- Provision and maintain Azure infrastructure through CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows defined by the team
- Operate and maintain Azure environments in line with established cloud infrastructure patterns, landing zone standards, and resource topologies
- Perform day-to-day cloud operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and platform maintenance across Azure core services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity)
- Translate High-Level Designs from Architecture into working, well-documented infrastructure deployments
- Update and maintain operational processes, runbooks, and infrastructure documentation to reflect current state
- Be proactive in maintaining knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure patterns, Azure platform updates, and reliability engineering practices
You'll come to this role with experience in Azure cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps engineering, delivering secure, scalable enterprise solutions to our business and have a solid cloud development background in the following:
Languages & Tools: Terraform (HCL), PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML, JSON
Platforms & IDEs: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Code, Git, Terraform Cloud/Enterprise (desirable)
Azure Services: Virtual Networks, Virtual Machines, App Services, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus
Methodologies: Agile, Hybrid, and Scrum
Some of your other key experience will include:
- Familiarity with role-based security and permission models, Azure RBAC, Managed Identities, and Entra ID permission models
- Sound understanding of Azure networking concepts including VNets, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateways
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
- Understanding of reliability engineering principles including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and incident management
- Knowledge of infrastructure security including network segmentation, private endpoints, and Azure security baselines
- Familiarity with Azure cost management and FinOps principles
- Experience with CI/CD, Git branching strategies, and infrastructure testing approaches
