Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to support one of our key enterprise clients. The role involves designing, implementing, and enhancing cloud platform capabilities, driving automation, and ensuring seamless integration across a complex technology ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and well‑architected cloud solutions aligned with organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and roll out enhancements to the AWS platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise policies, standards, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks to support scalable and repeatable cloud operations.
• Collaborate with Technology and Business stakeholders to deliver a roadmap of system integrations and new cloud capabilities.
• Ensure the AWS platform integrates effectively with enterprise tools such as SIEM, APM, SRM, and ITSM.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines enabling automated deployments into AWS landing zones aligned with Security, Operational, and Cloud governance.
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tooling, and ways of working.
• Uphold organisational safety, security, and compliance standards, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
• Maintain awareness of internal policies, procedures, and required training.
• Work collaboratively within Agile teams and contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Operate autonomously while maintaining strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS networking services including Direct Connect, Network Firewall, and Transit Gateway.
• Deep expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, particularly AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with AWS build and deployment tools (CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline).
• High proficiency in Python and familiarity with additional programming languages.
• Experience working with Splunk or similar log analysis platforms.
• Proven background in automation and delivering automated cloud solutions.
• Exposure to the AWS Well-Architected Framework (advantageous).
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with application teams and senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within collaborative team structures.
