For a client of expertech we are URGENTLY looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to join a cutting-edge Strategic Design team, where you'll play a pivotal role at the intersection of design, user insight, and product innovation. This is your chance to drive meaningful change by shaping the vision behind digital products and services that matter.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Practice Director in shaping UX/UI strategy, contributing to design standards, team processes, and overall experience vision
  • Translate complex insights and requirements into intuitive, engaging, and scalable design solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams - from research and product to engineering - to ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience.
  • Use tools like prototyping, journey mapping, and interaction design to validate concepts and bring ideas to life.
  • Contribute to and evolve strategic frameworks, design systems, and internal methodologies to strengthen design maturity.
  • Act as a potential 2IC, with opportunities to lead projects, mentor junior designers, and step into leadership responsibilities as the team grows

Essential skills and experience

  • Proven experience leading UX/UI efforts across complex digital products or services.
  • A deep understanding of user-centered design, interaction design, and information architecture and Wireframing
  • Strong capabilities in user research, prototyping (Figma, etc.), and service design thinking.
  • Ability to consolidate research and business inputs into actionable strategies and elegant interfaces.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to influence and align stakeholders, from product managers to C-level execs.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to zoom in on detail while keeping the big picture in mind.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Exposure to content strategy or data-driven design.
  • Experience in change management or supporting design-led transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with data analytics to inform and measure design impact.
  • Leverage AI-driven tools and methodologies (e.g., generative design, personalization, or user behavior analysis) to enhance user experiences and streamline design workflows

Applicants need to reside in Australia and have eligible working rights. This is an URGENT 6 month contract that can be WFH. There may be an opportunity to grow into a 2IC for Practice Director in a permanent capacity. As this role is URGENT, interviews will take place very quickly!
