AI Engineer ( LLM / Python / SQL )

$600-800 a day including super DOE

Initial 12 month contract

We’re partnering with a well-known reputable Australian business looking to bring on a Junior -mid level AI Engineer to help drive a number of AI/LLM proof-of-concept initiatives into production.

This is a hands-on role focused on building and experimenting with LLM-driven solutions, working closely with product and engineering teams to validate use cases and deliver real business impact.

What you’ll be doing

• Build and iterate on AI/LLM proof of concepts (POCs)
• Design and develop LLM-powered applications and workflows
• Work across the full lifecycle from idea → prototype → production-ready solution
• Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to identify and refine use cases
• Integrate AI solutions into existing systems and pipelines

What we’re looking for

• 2-5 years experience across AI / ML Engineering, Data Science, or Software Engineering
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs (e.g. OpenAI, Claude, Gemini)
• Experience building end-to-end solutions, not just modelling
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with modern AI tooling/frameworks
• Ability to work in fast-paced, experimental environments

Tech environment

• LLMs / GenAI tooling
• Python, APIs, modern AI frameworks
• Cloud-based environment (GCP preferred, but not essential)

Nice to have

• Experience with RAG pipelines, embeddings, or vector databases
• Exposure to ML Ops / deployment of AI solutions
• Product or startup experience
