Do you share the passion for automation and would like to join a team of other engaged DevOps Engineers to work on exciting projects @Telia? My name is Roberta Kniuipytė and I am a proud manager of Messaging & Eventing team @Telia. We are part of Automation & Integration function, and we are on an exciting journey shaping the future of Telia’s Messaging (Kafka, ActiveMQ Artemis) and File Transfers landscape. In this role, you’ll work with the next-generation architecture that underpins Telia’s business and play a direct part in making it stronger, smarter, and more resilient.
What you’ll do:
This is a self-driven, delivery-focused role that requires strong collaboration across agile teams to achieve success. As Senior DevOps Engineer, you will not only be part of daily maintenance and ops activities, but also play a key role in improving Kafka-as-a-service in Telia, as well as enabling open-source File Transfers solution. You will:
- Operate and improve Kafka and MFT (Managed File Transfers) infrastructure on private cloud, incl. Kubernetes environments
- Help drive Kafka self-service concept forward
- Contribute to enabling Managed File Transfer capabilities on an open‑source platform
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) to ensure scalability
- Contribute to DevSecOps practices: security automation, code scanning, and vulnerability remediation
- Leverage observability through integrated monitoring, alerting, and logging tools
- Liason with internal Telia stakeholders to serve messaging and file transfer integration needs
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support availability and incident response
- Strong experience in Linux environment
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
- Hands-on experience building efficient CI/CD solutions (GitHub Actions/Atlassian Bamboo/Jenkins/etc.)
- Comprehensive understanding of monitoring and incident management solutions
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills
- Experienced in backend/API development Java/Go/Node.js would be considered as an advantage, as well as any previous knowledge of Kafka, sftpGo or Airflow.
