As Data and IT Risk Manager (Data privacy, Information Security and Data management), you will play a pivotal role in strengthening Lloyds Bank’s risk management framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution, requiring strong analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation.

You will lead initiatives that enhance internal controls, oversee risk and compliance processes, and contribute to the bank’s readiness for ECB supervision. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic, international environment.


A day in the life of a Data and IT Risk Manager

09:00 – Review Risk Reports

Start the day by reviewing dashboards and reports on RCSA findings and policy compliance.

10:00 – Stakeholder Meeting

Join a cross-functional meeting with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to discuss upcoming regulatory changes and their operational impact.

11:30 – Policy Gap Analysis

Analyse internal control documentation and identify areas for improvement or remediation.

13:00 – Lunch & Informal Networking

Connect with colleagues to share insights and foster collaboration.

14:00 – ECB Readiness Workshop

Work with programme teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical steps for implementation.

15:30 – Audit Preparation

Prepare briefing materials for an upcoming internal audit and review quality assurance findings.

16:30 – Opinion Paper Drafting

Draft a short opinion paper summarising observations on risk control effectiveness and recommendations for improvement.

17:30 – Wrap-Up

Update action trackers and plan priorities for the next day.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Risk Function Transformation
  • Drive the evolution of our risk management framework in the area data privacy, information security and data management to align with supervisory standards.
  • Internal Control & RCSA Oversight
  • Identify and remediate gaps in policies, processes, and documentation within the Internal RCSA system.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Provide continuous oversight of assigned teams and issue regular opinion papers.
  • Audit Partnership
  • Act as a sparring partner for internal and external audits.
  • Change Leadership
  • Support the ECB Readiness Programme by translating regulatory expectations into actionable initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, and business units to embed new legal and regulatory requirements into operational practices.


Required Knowledge and Experience


Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German or Dutch and English).
  • Ability to develop operational policies and ensure procedures are understood.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for managing and monitoring risk processes.


Qualifications

  • University degree in Law, Economics, or equivalent.
  • Risk Management or Certified Compliance Officer qualification preferred.


Experience

  • Several years in Auditing, Risk & Compliance, or Data Management.
  • Strong understanding of integral risk control models and reporting.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex information and support decision-making.
